As most of you will notice I’ve not had any posts up recently and every year about this time it seems to be the same story. I could blame it on the fact I was in England for Christmas and didn’t have time to sit down and write. I could blame it on since being back from England I’ve been going full steam ahead at gathering everything I need for the wedding but im not going to use them as an excuse. I will promise to get some posts running on here soon. Im also working on the coding of the site too so it should have a little tweek. Don’t worry nothing big and drastic, but just some things which should make the site work a lot smoother. Thanks for your regular support and reading of the blogs. I get blown away at how many of you are interested my my ramblings.

Hey everyone, Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve been in bed for the last week trying to get over a bad spout of flu.

This past week has been a very surreal week and many changes have taken place for me. The most exciting bit of news is that I got engaged. Which is a dream come true for me but on the flip side I’ve had two very sad bits of news this week. A man named Rich Hubbard and a baby, Quinn Mills have passed away both from their own battles with cancer.

It got me asking the questions that we all would ask God when we experience something like this.

Why is there pain in the world?

Why do the good people die?

Why did you have to take him?

While I could have listed some of the other questions I think you get the idea. I’ve been asking these questions and while I believe I have some answers for those questions, others will have to wait until I get to Heaven. It’s still a very painful and difficult to hold on to the promises.

Recently in Bogota, Colombia you may have heard there was a big explosion outside a radio station in the centre of the city. I’ve been living in Bogota for nearly 8 months and this is my first experience of any bombs, shooting etc etc. The same day after the explosion took place I went to meet a friend and we were walking to grab a bit to eat at a restaurant but to get to the restaurant we needed to walk past the blast site of the explosion. This week at Church will be the last of the series called “Royal DNA”. I idea for this series came from a few different places such as a teaching series i heard from Bethel a few years back but the main inspiration for this series came from a conversation i had with a friend of mine who seemed to be stuck in a place of not feeling good enough to have a real relationship with God. Now this person if you asked her would’ve said she was a Christian and has been in church for too many years to count but still she felt that she wasn’t good enough. I started to wonder how many Churches are full of people who are in this same place? I know for me this was a huge issue and in some areas i still struggle with this. So in this series we’ve spent some time looking at some of the stuff that can get in the way of use walking in our true royal inheritance.

When Jesus died on the cross for us it completely changed what our futures where going to look like. Just before Jesus came many people would have to do crazy things and stick to all these huge laws which were predominately put into place by the religious folk of the day… “If you do that then you need to do this to make it right” and a lot of people would think they have to be perfect to be used by God, oh how times haven’t changed. This week I’ve been studying about the subject of forgiveness. I was asked to develop a study for the youth group on the forgiveness part of the Lords prayer. This has been a fantastic time of growth and revelation.

And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For if you forgive others when they sin against you,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

For most people just that bit of scripture is a clear as day and would penetrate through our un-forgiveness but if you carry on reading just after the lords prayer is finished you will find the follow scripture in Matthew 14….

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Wow, that can be a bit of a slap in the face to some of us Christians who have been walking around for all these years with that burden.

I came across and amazing video about a guy who confronts his Father who has killed his mum and while we all haven’t been in a place of having to expreience forgiveness to the same level as this guy, i challenge all of you to watch this video and ask yourself… What am i holding onto….
